Venga y aprenda sobre las técnicas de moldeo y fundición con el artista Liene Bosquê. A través de este taller de escultura avanzado de 7 semanas de duración, los participantes aprenderán varias técnicas de molde y fundición experimentando con formas tridimensionales positivas y negativas. Veremos cómo utilizar diferente materiales como yeso, pulpa de papel y papel maché para construir de pequeñas partes una obra más grande. Los participantes también tendrán la oportunidad de ver de cerca otras exposiciones y así aprender cómo otros artistas transforman objetos diarios en obras de arte, o como técnicas de moldeado y fundición pueden también aplicarse a proyectos arquitectónicos.

Liene Bosquê es un artista plástico brasileña residente de Queens. Sus instalaciones, esculturas investigan experiencias sensoriales dentro de espacios arquitectónicos, urbanos y personales, enfatizando su contexto, la memoria y la historia. Recibió un MFA de la Escuela de Arte del Instituto de Chicago en 2011. BFA de la Universidad Estatal de Sao Paulo, y un BA en Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Mackenzie en Brasil. Su obra está en museos y galerías en Brasil, Portugal, Turquía, Corea del Sur y Estados Unidos. Recientemente, recibió la beca de artistas emergentes del Parque de Escultura de Sócrates.

Through this 7-week long advanced sculpture workshop, participants will learn various mold making and casting techniques by experimenting with positive and negative three-dimensional shapes. The instructor will introduce how to utilize different material such as plaster, paper pulp and papier-mâché into the making process and use the repetition method to compose a larger artwork. Participants will also have the chance to have a close look at upcoming exhibitions to learn about how artists transform daily objects into artwork, as well as how mold making and casting techniques can be applied to architectural projects.

Liene Bosquê is a Brazilian visual artist based in Queens. Her installations, sculptures, performances, and site-specific works investigate the sensorial experience within architectural, urban and personal spaces, emphasizing context, memory, and history. She received a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011. She received her BFA from the Sao Paulo State University, and a BA in Architecture and Urbanism from the Mackenzie University, both in Brazil. Her work has been included in museum and gallery shows in Brazil, Portugal, Turkey, South Korea, and United States. Recently, she received the Emerging Artist Fellowship from the Socrates Sculpture Park.
