Smartphone Apps Workshop

Learn how to access free tools and software (open sources programs) to create a web app, the basic steps of designing a web page app, the
management of media aids on the web app, and how to complete and publish a smartphone app in this seminar. Participants will work on
creating their own phone app about themselves and their experiences with the Queens Museum and the New New Yorkers program.

Workshop Instructor: Huixin(Maritza) Wu earned her Master in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University. She is also a network and website designer certified by Stony Brook University and Queens College. Ms. Wu has been an instructor at both New York City College of Technology, NYCCT, and Queensborough Community College since 2007, and she is currently a technology engineering lecturer at QCC. In addition to lecturing, Ms. Wu is also the course coordinator of the digital computing course and the lead of course development for America’s
Promise Grant and TechWorks program.

Workshop in Spanish 
The seminar is offered to people with some knowledge on how to use the computer such as how to save documents and files, how to create and browse information in a folder, and how to search information on the web and using a local PC. The seminar is taught in Spanish and English at the Corona Library in an effort to provide each student with a computer during each session.
