Event - NYsferatu

NYsferatu

04.10.17, 2:30 pm

Through this 4-week long workshop, the instructor and artist Andrea Mastrovito will introduce students to film studies and writing through an introduction to the 1922 classic film ‘Nosferatu’ based on Bram Stoker’s famous ‘Dracula’.  You will discover your inner writer and film critic!

Have you ever wanted to make movie history? Now is your chance! Students will watch the original film, discuss history and techniques, and get a sneak peek into the artist’s new animation, NYsferatu now set in today’s New York City. You will learn more about the making of the film as you see demonstrations in class. Based on your experience of living in New York City, all students will get to write the title cards of the new film—in English and your native language!

Andrea Mastrovito is an Italian born artist who had exhibited in the United States and internationally. He works in drawing and film based on classic literature.

Get your name in lights! The final film will be screened for free in Flushing-Meadows Corona Park and parks across the city in August 2017. All students will be credited as writers in the final film and get front row seats to the presentation with their friends and family.

No experience necessary. All materials provided. The workshop is free.
