Event - Neighborhood Futures Workshop:

Neighborhood Futures Workshop:

03.10.18, 1:00 pm

Join the Neighborhood Futures Workshop to test out your ideas for new local currencies, neighborhood businesses, or community aid programs.

Throughout this two week workshop, participants will have the opportunity to design social experiments that can radically reimagine the ways in which people engage with local economies, social rituals, and adapt to technological shifts. The instructors will introduce design methods for imagining new ways of improving local neighborhoods. Participants will work collectively with professional designers to generate ideas and create props visualizing those projects. They will then work with professional actors to bring the visions to life.

This workshop is being organized by The Extrapolation Factory, a New York design practice focused on helping communities imagine possible futures. Over the course of the event, we hope to identify preferable alternatives for local families and communities. The outcomes from this workshop will be presented at this year’s Milan Design Week.
