A participatory design workshop for financial applications. Galleries and show spaces in this Queens neighborhood have attracted artists in large quantities, and this once industrial hub now showcases their creative and colorful talents. Also, the Citibank landmark building is the tallest building in New York City and is being considered for the next Amazon headquarters.

How can we talk about our personal finances? How can we create safe spaces to play and understand them? How can we use finances to inspire us artistically and vice versa, use art to understand finance? This workshop looks to serve migrants who are looking to be smarter and find a more effective way to transform the futures of their families and the wider community.

First, by asking users to communicate and document their beliefs about money followed by a series of participative design workshops, Sandra aims at empowering people to understand and challenge their beliefs about money.

Sandra Davila is an artist and a user experience designer that researches products and services for migrant workers and transnational people. She was a design lead at the Citi Innovation Lab. She is an accomplished designer that has worked for distinguished creative agencies like Gin Lane, Huge and Code and Theory. She pioneered the UX Research class at Pratt Institute’s School of Continuing Education and is now a visiting professor at Pratt School of Information. Sandra led the design team that re-launched NY.gov and has worked with clients such as The Guardian, Scholastic, Guggenheim Partners, The Globe and Mail, and Comcast.

Diseño, Arte y Tecnología para el progreso financiero.Un taller de diseño participativo para aplicaciones financieras. Las galerías y los espacios para exhibiciones en este vecindario de Queens han atraído a artistas en grandes cantidades, y este centro industrial en el pasado ahora muestra sus talentos creativos y coloridos.
