Join us on Sunday, July 14, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for a day of creativity and family fun for our July Family Day: Celebrating Prototyping Play

Event Highlights:

  • Drop-In Art Workshops (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Led by one of our teaching artists, these hands-on art-making sessions are designed for the whole family to enjoy.
  • Exhibition Walkthrough and Demo with Cas Holman (3:00 PM – 3:45 PM): Explore the Prototyping Play exhibition with a guided tour and learn more about Cas Holman’s innovative playscape.
  • Interactive Installations: Enjoy both of Cas Holman’s interactive installations:
    • Tracing Play: Use human-sized Drawing Tools to create marks on the Drawing Pads or paper surfaces.
    • Critter Party: Interact with the Mama Critter, Baby Critters, and Thingies, which invite various types of play like crawling, sliding, storytelling, and building.

Cas Holman’s Prototyping Play experiments with different modes of intuitive and child-directed free play in an art museum environment. Holman’s open-ended playthings and playspaces foster collaboration, inventive thinking, and interactivity, inviting artists of all ages to create, exchange, cooperate, and leave their mark.

Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of playful creativity at the Queens Museum!
