Gretchen Werwaiss is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Manhattan and now jointly running – with her father and brother – a fourth generation Queens (Long Island City)-based real estate ownership, management and development company, Werwaiss Properties.

 

After practicing law for 14 years, Gretchen joined Werwaiss Properties in 2009.  At Werwaiss Properties, she focuses on leasing and marketing of commercial and industrial spaces in Long Island City and Western Queens as well as on tenant relations and legal and regulatory matters.  

 

Gretchen is the former Chair and a current and long-standing member of the Board of the Queens Museum; she is an active member of the Capital and Sustainability Committee.   

 

Gretchen also serves as the Treasurer and as a member of the Board of the Long Island City Business Improvement District (LIC BID) and is an active member of the Long Island City Partnership.  

 

Gretchen earned a B.A. and a J.D. from Georgetown University.
