Wiki World’s Fair

Join the Wiki World’s Fair to learn about Wikipedia and how to participate by writing articles, taking photos, improving data, and contributing your own translations about local and global communities. Given the World’s Fair theme, we will put a particular emphasis on maps and representations of the world big and small, and on sharing the 300+ independent language editions of Wikipedia with a multilingual Queens.

Bring your laptop, get one-on-one support, and join workshops and talks both on-site and in sync with the online global “Wikimania” conference.  Activities will bring together Wikipedia and its family of projects with the Queens Museum’s permanent collection and current exhibitions, including the Panorama of the City of New York and Stephanie Dinkins: On Love and Data. Accompanied by a series of lighting talks that will focus on topics around mapping, translation, and non profit non governance in Wikipedia.
