(POSTONED) Sally Tallant and Tom Finkelpearl Talk About
the Queens Museum with Friends
Jun 2 2020
In light of recent events, the Queens Museum has decided to postpone the talk scheduled for Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020. In this moment of great uncertainty and despair across the city and world, we recognize the ongoing violence affecting Black lives and would like to express solidarity with all communities fighting for justice.
We would like to highlight a few of the local Queens-based organizations continuing to do important work that you can support. We’d love to hear from you about the groups, organizations, and initiatives that you are supporting in this time.
This talk has been programmed in lieu of theQueens Museum’s Annual Gala, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 public health crisis. Please join us to celebrate the Queens Museum together with our 2020 honoree Tom Finkelpearl, former New York City Cultural Affairs Commissioner. Even without the in-person event we want to pay tribute to our 2020 honorees including Peter and Helen Warwick, art supporters, and the Queens Museum Studio Artists.
Sally Tallant, QM Executive Director and Tom Finkelpearl, former New York City Cultural Affairs Commissioner will be in conversation with invited guests. They will discuss the Queens Museum’s past, present and future. Special guests appearances include Maria Canela, former Queens Museum New New Yorker program participant, Pedro Reyes, artist, and Sable Elyse Smith, artist and Queens Museum Trustee.
