QUEENSBOUND
Poetry Readings on the 7 Train and Project Launch in the Panorama

Please join us on November 3, 2018 at 2 pm for the reading and launch of QUEENSBOUND, a collaborative audio project. QUEENSBOUND collects stories of Queensfrom Long Island City to Jamaicaand embeds them on a pared-down version of the Queens subway map, designed by Kyle Richard, enabling visitors to hear Queens read aloud. QUEENSBOUND exists to remind us that building community is a form of resistance.

On November 3, 2018, the QUEENSBOUND project will launch with a reading on the 7 subway line and reception at the Queens Museum.

At 2 pm, contributors and guests will meet on the platform at the Queensbound Vernon Jackson station and step on the first car of the first local train. Contributors will read their original work on the 7 train before stepping off the train at Mets-Willets Point and walking to the Queens Museum.

At 3 pm, contributors and guests will gather for poetry readings and the reveal of the website in the Panorama of the City of New York at the Queens Museum.

QUEENSBOUND features poetry and prose about the borough from over a dozen leading Queens-based poets and writers, including Rosebud Ben-Oni, Malcolm Chang, Catherine Fletcher, Sherese Francis, Jared Harél, Nicole Haroutunian, Abeer Y. Hoque, Safia Jama, Paolo Javier, Joseph O. Legaspi, Ananda Lima, Maria Lisella, Vikas K. Menon, Belal Mobarak, Meera Nair, Maria Terrone, and QUEENSBOUND curator KC Trommer.

QUEENSBOUND is supported by a New Work grant from the Queens Council on the Arts.
