Celebration of Culture at Corona Plaza

Join us at Corona Plaza for Corónate, our monthly cultural festival that celebrates the best of Corona and Queens all summer long. In this edition, we will celebrate the end of the summer by dancing! Bring your entire family to enjoy live music and dance performances, art-making workshops, and the opportunity to learn more about your community.

Schedule:
1-5 pm  Family activities including: 

  • Face painting with dancing themes
  • Story Time
  • Paper making station
  • Crochet and embroidery workshop

2-3:30pm  Queensboro Dance Festival
This Queensboro Dance Festival performance will feature dance performances by Yamini Kalluri & Dwayne Beach; Sheep Meadow Dance Theater; Greek American Folklore Society; and Rogue Dancers. Performances will be followed by a mini dance workshop led by the Greek American Folklore Society.

3:30-4pm  Book reading“Bomba Portorriqueña” by Milteri Tucker and Dance Performance by Bombazo Kids
Milteri Tucker, Artistic Director of Bombazo Dance Company, presents Bomba Puertorriqueña, a colorful book telling the history of Puerto Rico’s oldest musical and dance genre of the island for children ages 2 and up, followed by a dance performance by Bombazo Kids!
