Art and Merchandise in Keith Haring’s Pop Shop, by Amy Raffel, Ph.D.
Jan 27 2021
Join us for a launch event to celebrate Dr. Amy Raffel’s new book, Art and Merchandise in Keith Haring’s Pop Shop. The book is a monograph of Keith Haring’s career, centered on the evolution of ideas that led to his Pop Shop, where he produced and sold affordable objects printed with his art. Amy will give an overview of the book, and touch on Keith Haring’s exhibition history at the Queens Museum, followed by a short conversation with her colleague, Assistant Curator, Lindsey Berfond, and a Q&A with the public.
This event will take place on Zoom. To join please RSVP at this link.
Amy Raffel has a PhD degree in art history from the CUNY Graduate Center and a Master’s degree from the Institute of Fine Arts (NYU). Art and Merchandise in Keith Haring’s Pop Shop is Amy’s first academic book, published as an independent scholar with Routledge. Amy currently works as the Andrew W. Mellon Interpretation Research Fellow at the Queens Museum, developing interpretation initiatives. She has produced audio and visitor guides, art talks, wall text, and interactive spaces.
