During this workshop, participants will gain basic insight into the video editing process and will learn how to dissect the different components of a video. They will become aware of how media is produced and how they can use this knowledge to create better videos or images. In an era in which media literacy is crucial to relating and understanding our world, this is very important.
Your Video, My Video, the Video is designed so everybody can decide how they want to create their videos, and feel comfortable regardless of their media experience and technical skills. We will mainly work with cell phones. However, other easily available devices are welcome, but not necessary. Will be using free online resources for editing. The philosophy of the workshop values content and storytelling over production.
During each session, we will discuss videos and share examples of different shooting and editing styles. A video list will be made available for participants to refer to for inspiration or as a technical dictionary.
No previous experience is needed but participants must have a smart phone and Internet access.
