As part of Year of Uncertainty, Artist-In-Residence Gabo Camnitzer’s project – The Student Body – dancer, movement researcher and elementary school teacher, Danielle Staropoli will lead a movement workshop collaborating with participating children to explore the ways they physically experience classroom design. In a 40 minute workshop, children between 7 and 9 years-old will be facilitated in experiment with different ways of using the classroom carpet Lots of Dots. Children will also be encouraged to think critically about the ways learning spaces are designed, and how they might design them differently, through a discussion with Gabo Camnitzer.

This workshop has two sessions:
– 2:00pm – 2:40pm
– 3:00pm – 3:40pm

Each workshop session can accommodate up to 6 children. Parents can visit the museum for the duration of the workshop. If interested please rsvp to: gabocamn@gmail.com

Please note, in compliance with the New York City ‘Key to NY’ vaccine mandate, all visitors ages 5 and up are required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Mask-wearing is also mandated inside the museum. Click here for more info.

Due to the space limitations of the designated site of the workshop in the gallery, participants will be distanced less than 6 ft apart from each other.
