Create patterns using various materials and processes, while learning fundamental concepts in visual composition.

Through guided exploration, participants learn to use color, texture, shapes, and other elements to design patterns that can be applied to a variety of household objects or personal accessories.

Jano Cortijo is a bilingual art educator who invites audiences of all ages to make art a part of their daily lives. For Cortijo, art can be a catalyst for conversation, a reason to have a good time or a pretext to stop and contemplate. Cortijo currently works with school-aged children, adults, seniors of varying abilities in several art museums around New York City.
