Our monthly cultural celebrations return to Corona Plaza this Summer. Every last Saturday of the month enjoy live music, workout time, art making workshops, dance performances read stories and learn about inspirational causes. All activities are free.

Nuestra celebración cultural mensual regresa a Corona Plaza este Verano. Cada último sábado del mes venga a disfrutar de música, ejercicio, talleres de arte, presentaciones de danza, leer historias y aprender sobre causas que nos inspira. Todas las actividades son gratuitas.

Mazarte is an artistic organization that exposes the urban community to a unique work of dance, history and art while simultaneously empowering the artisans in indigenous Mexican communities. Mazarte’s goal is to create a union between dance, research, and indigenous art in order to promote Mexican cultural heritage, bring history to life and provide educational programs for the communities we live in.At the same time, we believe our approach to art and culture must be holistic and with each program we reconnect and support the indigenous communities we left back in Mexico.

Mazarte es una organización artística que expone a la comunidad urbana a un trabajo de danza único, historia y arte mientras empodera a las artesanas en comunidades indígenas mexicanas. La meta de Mazarte es unir la danza, investigación y arte indígena para promover la herencia cultural mexicana, traer la historia a la vida y proveer programas educacionales para las comunidades en las que vivimos. Al mismo tiempo creemos que nuestro acercamiento al arte y la cultura debe ser holístico y con cada programa re-conectamos y apoyamos a las comunidades indígenas que dejamos en México.

4:30 – 5:30 Bangladesh Institute of Performance
The Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts Inc. (BIPA) is a non-profit socio-cultural organization based in New York City. BIPA was launched in 1993 with a view to keeping alive the rich Bengali cultural traditions among Bangladeshi immigrants, and to acquaint and enrich the American mainstream with this wonderful heritage. Pursuant to this object it started a school in Queens and Brooklyn in order to teach Bengali language, music and dance to the youth of Bangladeshi community. Over the last 20 years, quite a large number of students have received lessons at BIPA’s school and had performed at numerous community and mainstream shows in New York and other states, both along with and under the guidance of their teachers. Over the years, BIPA has expanded it’s activities, designing new creative projects and collaborating with various artists and groups.

El Insituto de Artes Escénicas de Bangladesh Inc., también conocido por BIPA es una organización socio cultural si fines de lucro basada en la ciudad de Nueva York. BIPA se creó en 1993 con la visión de mantener vivas las tradiciones culturales Bengalíes entre los inmigrantes de Bangladesh, y para crear amistad y enriquecer la audiencia Americana con esta herencia maravillosa. Con este objetivo se inició una escuela en Queens y Brooklyn para enseñar el idioma Bengalí, música y danza a la juventud de la comunidad de Bangladesh. Por más de 20 años, un gran número de estudiantes han recibido lecciones en la escuela de BIPA y se han presentado en varios shows comunitarios y de otras redes más tradicionales en Nueva York y otros estados, ambos junto y bajo la guía de sus instructores. A través de los años BIPA ha expandido sus actividades, diseñando nuevos proyectos creativos y colaborando con varios artistas y grupos.
