Juliana Huxtable is a writer, artist and DJ based in NYC. She is a member of House of Ladosha, a queer artist collective based in Brooklyn, and creator and resident DJ of #SHOCKVALUENYC. She creates and speaks from the positions of cyborg, priestess, witch and trans girl simultaneously. She is originally from Bryan/College Station, TX and graduated from Bard College. Her work has appeared and been referenced in Artforum, Mousse, Maker Magazine and Garmento. She has read and performed at Envoy Enterprises, Brooklyn Academy of Music, White Columns and Artists space.

Marie Karlberg is a Swedish-born, Iraqi-blooded, Brooklyn-based performance artist. Karlberg’s works puts emphasis on reactionary performances. Subsequently, much of her early performance work was focused in nightlife settings, which allowed for the living element that a gallery space does not. Karlberg’s previous performance groups included Dead Muse and House of Drama though more recent works have been solo undertakings, occasionally exhibited in group settings. Over the span of her career, her work has gone from reactionary nightlife productions to working with feminism and sexuality in a critical light. She drew much attention for her “A Woman For Sale” performance piece, which dealt with the idea of selling herself as an artistic installation. Karlberg also founded the critically acclaimed art rave “Xtapussy” with artist Stewart Uoo. (taken from topicalcream.info)

Kembra Pfahler is an artist and rock musician, best known as the painted lead singer of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, a theatrical death rock band she co-founded in 1990. The band uses music, drawings and films to spread a clear message of love in a beautiful, tsuristic, anti-natural, fearless and happy way to dispel the antiquated notion that there is a hierarchy of artistic mediums. In her art and music, Pfahler follows the philosophy of availabism”€”making the best of what’s available. Recent solo exhibitions include: F— Island, Participant Inc., New York, 2012; Giverny: E.V. Day & Kembra Pfahler in Monet’s Garden, The Hole, New York, NY 2012; Heaven & Hell, Deitch Projects at Bas Fisher Invitational, Miami, FL 007; File Under “€˜V’, Rove Gallery, London, UK, 2005; and Availabism and Anti-Naturalism: A Feminine Experiment, American Fine Arts Company, 2002.

Fluct is the collaboration of New York based artists Monica Mirabile and Sigrid Lauren. Through experimental dance, sound, and conceptual narrative FlucT approaches a new paradigm. Their performances use dysmorphic body contortion, highlighting a feminist perspective to critique and deconstruct social, political, and economic systems. Fluct’s work has been displayed in diverse environmental situations ranging from MOMA PS1 to gravel pit alley ways of Pittsburgh to utilize the effects of varying social spaces. FlucT recently opened a new performance arts space, Otion Front Studio, in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Otion Front Studio offers classes, rehearsal space and performance events. Born in Tehran and raised in Paris, the New York based singer and producer LAFAWNDAH cut her musical teeth as a member of Nidada, an all-girl group she founded with friends in Mexico City in 2011. She has been performing solo since late 2012 including stints during Art Basel Miami Beach, Glenn O’Brien’s recent TV Party revival and LA’s infamous Mustache Monday.

LAFAWNDAH’S vocal stylings invite comparisions to the beauty and seduction of Sade voice while the confidence, empowered sexuality and self-granted freedom evoke the energy of Grace Jones. While these reference come to mind LAFAWNDAH has staged an entirely new musical landscape to explore.

Michael Magnan is an artist and DJ who has been living in NYC for the past 14 years. He is know for his previous collaborations with LadyFag, artist Scott Hug (as part of the duo Hug & Magnan) and House of Ladosha. He is also part of musical duo FATHERHOOD with producer Physical Therapy

Lyndsy Welgos is a New York based visual artist. Her work has a strong interest in photo history and feminist dialogue. Welgos received her BFA from the Atlanta College of Art in 2005. Since then her work has been internationally exhibited. She is the co-founder of Topical Cream, a web magazine focusing on women artists working in fashion, art and technology as well as topical and trending subjects which affect their lives.

Casey Spooner is an artist and musician. He was born in Athens, Georgia and resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. While attending the Art Institute of Chicago he met Warren Fischer. The two went on to cofound Fischerspooner in New York in 1998. Spooner has submitted works for Deitch Projects and an album by R.E.M. A promotion for Fischerspooner’s second album included an art Salon/Art Exhibition of all the images used in making of the album, this has since been linked to Warhol. Spooner has contributed and worked on shows with Doorika, a performance arts collective based in Chicago and New York City.
