Join us for this incredible Zoom in Mandarin on the fundamental elements of sculpture, such as subtractive and additive processes. We will material that can be found at home and look into the significance of these materials to understand how they create meaning. We will approach sculpture as a medium that opens the door to imaginative spaces and places through memory.

Teaching Artist:陈艳 Yan Cynthia Chen

Yan Cynthia Chen is a NYC based sculptor and educator. She was born in China. Her work engages materiality and the language of functional forms. She received her BFA in Sculpture from RISD is 2013. She participated in the Bronx Museum AIM Fellowship and Yale Norfolk Residency. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at Assembly Room, and Westbeth Gallery.
