Event - NNY ESOL and English Workshop

NNY ESOL and English Workshop

11.02.19, 2:00 pm

Each class will start with a short introduction to the English vocabulary/grammar of the week. The English we learn will connect to the style of painting we are going to work on. We will then look at inspirational examples of that style from art history and contemporary art. Students will use the rest of the class time to work on their paintings, with individual help from the teacher. They will leave with their paintings and a handout of the week’s vocab. Students will have opportunities to work from photos they bring as well as still lifes and photos provided by the museum.

We recommend attending every week, but students can also come to one, two, or as many or a few classes as they would like! All class supplies will be provided, but students may want to buy an inexpensive watercolor set and brush to have at home in case they don’t finish their paintings in class.

Jennifer May Reiland is an artist based in New York. She is currently a resident artist at Queens Museum. She graduated from Cooper Union in 2011.
