Please join us on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM as the LAUGHING RIVER school presents a jujitsu and tai chi demonstration in the museum theater.

LAUGHING RIVER students will be put through a rights of passage ceremony. The students will demonstrate their jujitsu and tai chi skills. This demonstration will be a test to determine our students development of character and physical skills. After demonstrating the students will be promoted to a higher rank. Some students will receive purple belts, others brown belts and one will receive her black belt.

The goal of this event is to publicly challenge the skills of our students. Furthermore we want to encourage the Queens community towards better understanding the deeper meaning, health benefits and poetics within tai chi and jujitsu. We want to share some of the logic, science, and strategy for balance and harmony behind martial arts. Thus, we may better understand how to improve our everyday lives.

The LAUGHING RIVER is a martial arts school. We teach children and adults: tai chi, meditation, jujitsu, and self-protection. We have been teaching martial arts for over 40 years. Our school is located in Elmhurst, Queens.
