An introduction to relief printing using wood and linoleum. We will be printing manually, using very basic tools, in order to properly understand the basics of these techniques.

The purpose of this 8 week course is to motivate and guide the participant from the initial idea until the final impression while they work and resolve potential problems related to the printing process (to anticipate how we’re going to record the two colors).

The final work produced in this workshop will use a manual printing press owned by the museum. One part of this workshop is to reactivate, clean, grease, and restore the press, including the installation of a guide to centralize the plates and paper.

We will analyze works made by different artists and we will explain how they were crafted.

These classes are free, but registration is required, as there are limited spots. This workshop is in Spanish.

Taller Introducción al  grabado (Linóleo, xilografía)

¡Aprendamos junto a Alex Guerrero las técnicas básicas del grabado!

Introducción al grabado de relieve usando matrices de madera y linóleo.

Imprimiremos manualmente usando utensilios bastante básicos para entender el principio de la técnica.

El propósito de este curso de 8 semanas de duración es motivar y guiar al participante desde la idea inicial hasta la impresión final mientras (pensar en imagen a dos colores) trabajan y resuelven posibles problemas del proceso de grabado (anticipar cómo vamos a registrar los dos colores)

El trabajo final del taller utilizaremos una prensa manual que el museo tiene.

Parte del taller es reactivar la prensa, limpiarla, engrasarla y restaurarla incluyendo la instalación de una guía para centralizar las planchas y papel.

Analizaremos obras realizadas por diferentes artistas y explicaremos cómo fueron elaboradas.

Las clases son gratuitas, pero se requiere inscripción. Taller en español. New New Yorkers necesita que traigamos alumnos nuevos, invita a tus amigos!
