The Communiversity of Inclusive Play (formerly In Search Of Something Special…) is a new grant funded initiative between the Queens Museum, Queens College, NYC Parks, and other community partners. Through workshops and public programs, parents, guardians and caregivers will take part in exploring sensory play, education, psychology, and design. Participants can build with mud, paint with bubbles, among many other activities!

This is the first summer park program that follows the model of “In Search of Something Special” park events. It is designed in partnership with the Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the FMCP Community Advisory Board with support from Council Member Julissa Ferreras-Copeland and NYC Parks. These public programs will be centered on the Playground for All Children (the first NYC playground designed with accessibility for all children) in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Learning and play will be considered within a physical space designed for people with diverse abilities. Spanish language support will be provided, with additional languages supported as needed.
