Dr. Michel Philippe Lerebours

Dr. Michel Philippe Lerebours’ influence on Haitian culture has been exceptional and far-reaching thanks to his work, his teachings and his writings. He is an art historian, a writer, a museum curator, an archaeologist, a researcher, a playwright and an educator. Dr. Lerebours has a doctorate in Art History and Archeology from the Sorbonne University in Paris. In a career that spanned decades, he had many responsibilities, including director of the Musée d’Art Haitien du Collège St. Pierre, its curator and Head of the National School of the Arts. To honor his work, the Toussaint Louverture Foundation will present testimonials and a Q&A.

Musée d’Art Haitien Reconstruction

Musée d’Art Haitien Reconstruction: Where are we? The Musée d’Art Haitien du Collège St. Pierre, severely damaged by the 2010 earthquake, is now going through the second phase of its reconstruction. Coming directly from Haiti, Joseph Harold Gaspard will give us an update and address the possibility of the museum reopening followed by a Q&A. Mr. Gaspard is an architect, a member of the Museum’s board and the president of ICOM-Haiti (International Council Of Museums).
