Event - Greetings from the Pavilion

Greetings from the Pavilion

11.15.14, 3:00 pm

People for the Pavilion have partnered with artist Sol Aramendi to offer a unique photography program focused on the New York State Pavilion. ‘Project Luz’ invites you to learn about the history of the New York State Pavilion and to take portraits of the diverse community around it, Visiting the Queens Museum exhibition “That Kodak Moment” and the “World’s Fair visible storage”.

Turning the camera’s eye towards the community, Sol created Project Luz, a nomadic space to share, learn and experiment using photography as a tool of empowerment for immigrant communities. In Project Luz workshops, participants get to know the city and learn to tell its stories. Through workshops, Sol uses art as a tool to connect people with communities.
