Family Day: Commemorating Women’s History Month

Please join for our March Family Day commemorating Women’s History Month!

 

We invite you to immerse yourself in captivating stories that highlight the resilience, creativity, and brilliance of women from diverse backgrounds through our drop-in workshops and story-telling by Queens-based poet Tara Jayakar.

 

Schedule

  • Drop-in Art Workshops (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM).
    Get your creative juices flowing with our drop-in art workshops led by one of our teaching artists. Our workshops are family-friendly for children of all ages.
  • Story-telling (2:00 – 2:30 PM, 3:00 – 3:30 PM).
    Celebrate Women’s History Month with an enchanting storytelling session by Tara Jayakar, tailored for young minds aged 5-9. Immerse yourself in a world of captivating tales that shine a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of women throughout history.

 

Tara Jayakar is a poet and founder of Raptor Press. They are the author of the chapbook devotion, and her work can be found online at The Shoreline Review, Hobart, The Chicago Reader, and Yes Poetry. She is from Chicago and lives in Queens.
