Ecuadorian Winter Recital: Ñukanchik Sapi

The Ecuadorian American Cultural Center is proud to present its annual Winter Recital featuring its children’s dance program Ñukanchik Sapi. Enjoy an afternoon of traditional Ecuadorian music and dance, and learn the history behind a variety of rhythms and celebrations from different indigenous communities of this South American country.

Also on stage will be the musical band Inti Andino and the adult dance troupe Ayazamana. The event is free and open to everyone.

About Ñukanchik Sapi: Ñukanchik Sapi, which translates from Kichwa to English as “our roots,” is the children’s dance program of the Ecuadorian American Cultural Center. The group of boys and girls, ages 5-12, meet every Saturday afternoon with their artistic director Jose Aguaiza to learn and practice traditional Ecuadorian rhythms.
