Discussion & Workshop: What It’s Worth: Values and Making Some Money

10.09.16, 12:00 pm

Join Queens Creative Solidarity (QCS), the 4th Artists-in-Residence in the Mobile Studio in the Park for an Open Table Discussion and Currency-Making Workshop.
Free & Open to all, the event features artists and organizers from a variety of communities who are actively working with community value, the Commons, and exchange, including: Antonio Serna, Rejin Leys, Hibridos Collective, Tania Mattos, P.J. Gubatina Policarpio and Dominique Hernandez.
QCS members Priscilla Stadler and Sami Abu-Shumays will facilitate a conversation on how we value resources, including the park and our communities. What does this mean for neighbors, organizers, artists? Join us to think, discuss, connect and create! Learn about related creative and organizing efforts, tell us what you think, and make some exchangeable artwork based on the resources that are important to us.
12-2pm: Part One  will be focused on dialogue and learning
2:15-4pm: Part Two focuses on (literally) making money by creating our own currencies.
Location: The ArtBuilt Mobile Studio trailer is situated in the lawn in front of the Museum’s East Entrance near the Unisphere. The event will move inside the museum in case of rain, check in with the front desk for rain location.
