Learn representational art through watercolor with artist Eleen Lin!

This 4 weeks long workshop series will focus on rethinking narrative and representational art. Through introducing different ways of image making, participants will learn to use mixture of pencil and watercolor techniques to generate a new narrative that links the participants’ personal history with fictional stories. The instructor will introduce her personal practice and Queens Museum’s current exhibitions as inspirations for participants to generate ideas. The workshop will also  include developing a sketchbook and using those sketches to compose a final project.
Born in Taiwan and grew up in Thailand, Eleen Lin holds an MFA in Painting from Yale University School of Art, a BA from Slade School of Fine Art, UK. Her work has been exhibited in Guangdong Museum of Art, China; Queens Museum of Art, NY; Gwangju Museum of Art, Korea; and galleries throughout Austria, Thailand, Taiwan, Germany, United Kingdom and
the United States. Lin has been awarded Elizabeth Canfield Hicks Award, Sanyu Scholarships, and has participated with NYFA Immigrant Artist Projects. Lin’s current work reiterates folklores and literature into contemporize cross-cultural narratives.
