Join us for an unforgettable artistic journey at the Queens Museum’s 2026 Winter Camp, running from February 17th to 20th, where creativity knows no bounds! Our camp offers a dynamic range of week-long workshops tailored to different age groups, ensuring a fulfilling experience for every child. As part of the Queens Museum Winter Camp experience, campers will become well acquainted with the Museum’s various ongoing and permanent exhibitions.

Camp Details

• Drop-off: 9:00 am – 9:30 am
  • Please note that if you arrive early you will have to accompany your camper until 9:00 am as the Museum staff are not responsible for your child prior to Camp start time.
• Camp Activities: 9:30 am – 10:00 am
• Workshops Begin: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Pick-up: 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm
• Lunch: Not provided (morning and afternoon snacks included)
• Cost: $160. You are eligible for a $25 discount as a Queens Museum Member OR if you are registering more than one child.
• Art Supplies: Included in registration fees

Workshops

Cardboard Arcade Camp (Ages 10–14)

Inspired by the short film Caine’s Arcade by Nirvan Mullick, this hands-on camp invites young makers to turn cardboard and found materials into fully functioning arcade-style skill games.

Over four days, campers will watch Caine’s Arcade, learn about the global work of the Imagination Foundation, and explore how imagination, problem-solving, and design come together. Campers will brainstorm ideas, sketch and measure designs, build prototypes, and bring their original games to life, culminating in a playful, interactive arcade experience.

This workshop is perfect for curious thinkers, creative builders, and kids who love to invent, tinker, and collaborate.

From Line to Space: From Drawing to 3D Sculpture (Ages 7–11)

In this playful, hands-on workshop, young artists explore how a single line can grow into something extraordinary, from drawings on paper to sculptures in space, and finally into artworks that float, balance, and move.

Campers begin with drawing and painting, then transform their ideas into three-dimensional forms using wire and lightweight materials. The week culminates in the creation of kinetic artworks that gently move and interact with their environment. Throughout the process, kids are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and follow their curiosity.

Artists and inspiration guide the journey, including Ruth Asawa, Gego, Senga Nengudi, Rashid Johnson, and Alexander Calder, artists who use line, movement, space, and everyday materials in imaginative ways.

This camp helps children see that art can be light, flexible, expressive, and fun—and that artists come from many cultures, identities, and ways of seeing the world.
