Queens Museum presents artwork created by students from seven partner schools across our borough. These young artists have made paintings, drawings, digital works, and collaborative murals inspired by the museum’s permanent collection, including the Panorama of the City of New York and rotating exhibitions by Stephanie Dinkins, Suzanne Lacy, and Christine Sun Kim.
A special thank you to our schools participating in the Cultural After-School Adventures Program (CASA) and for the generous support of The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and council members:
We are also grateful to include student artwork from our ongoing school partnership with Public School 14Q – The Fairview School.
The residencies were facilitated by Queens Museum Teaching Artists:
The exhibition was organized by the Queens Museum’s Exhibitions and Programs Department, with support from the Education Department.
About School Partnerships
The Queens Museum Education Department works with our partner schools to create customized residencies that integrate the Museum’s resources into programming that supports academic standards and the goals of each school community. Our extensively-trained and accomplished Teaching Artists and Museum Educators emphasize arts objectives and focus on art technique, art history, and exhibition design to complement classroom instruction and support Common Core academic objectives.
