Angelo Baque, Christina Geffrard, and Lorraine Chambers Lewis Join the Queens Museum’s Board of Trustees

The Queens Museum is excited to announce the appointment of Angelo Baque, Lorraine Chambers Lewis, and Christina Geffrard to its Board of Trustees. 

Born and raised in Queens, Angelo Baque is a fashion trailblazer. He spent ten years at the head of iconic streetwear brand Supreme and, more recently, founded Awake New York: a Queens-based clothing label that encapsulates the spirit of New York. Baque brings a multifaceted background in branding, design, retail, and community outreach to the Board of Trustees. 

Lorraine Chambers Lewis brings extensive occupational health experience to the Museum’s Board, having worked at the Queens Hospital Center, Northwell, and the North Shore-LIJ Health System. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lorraine led critical testing and vaccination programs for Northwell’s internal team, immunizing nearly 58,000 employees to date.  

Christina Geffrard is the Executive Assistant to Thomas Rudzewick, President & CEO of Maspeth Federal Savings & Loan Association. Christina has a deep commitment to community engagement and leads professional development programs in collaboration with St. John’s University and organizes free public events centered on the arts. 

“As a member of the Queens Museum’s Board of Trustees, I am excited about deepening my engagement with a borough that has been – and continues to be – so important to my personal and creative life. I want to work closely with the Museum’s staff, artists, and partners to find meaningful and sustainable ways of bringing new audiences into its community,” says Angelo Baque.  

“I am looking forward to bringing my health, entrepreneurial, and leadership experience to the institution’s Board of Trustees, in hopes of supporting the essential role that art plays in the healing and wellbeing of our community,” says Lorraine Chambers Lewis.

“As a Queens native, I am thrilled to channel my personal and professional connection to the borough into my role on the Queens Museum’s Board of Trustees,” says Christina Geffrard.

Bios

Angelo Baque
Born and raised in Queens, Angelo Baque is a pioneer in streetwear and fashion. Following an incredibly successful, decade-long run as the Brand Director at now-behemoth Supreme, Baque departed to found his own clothing label, Awake New York. In addition to being the founder and creative director at Awake NY, Baque also runs Angelo Baque Studios, where he manages solo projects. Baque brings a multifaceted background in branding, design, retail, and community outreach to the Board of Trustees.

 

Lorraine Chambers Lewis
A physician assistant (PA) for twenty-eight years, Lorraine Chambers Lewis has worked in emergency medicine, critical care, internal medicine and occupational health. She began her career at Queens Hospital Center and came to Northwell, then North Shore-LIJ Health System, in 2002 as a supervising PA for Long Island Jewish Medical Center’s emergency department. After transitioning to occupational health in 2007, she took on positions of increasing responsibility as the function grew during a time of rapid expansion for Northwell.  

In addition to launching Northwell’s first injury management and prevention program for worker safety, she also launched an occupational health business model for direct to employer clients including an onsite health and wellness clinic at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. 

A graduate of The CUNY School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, Lorraine received her MBA from Hofstra University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. For the last four years, she has also served as president of the New York Chapter of the Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare. 

 

Christina Geffrard
Christina Geffrard is the Executive Assistant to Thomas Rudzewick, President & CEO of Maspeth Federal Savings & Loan Association. Christina attended CUNY York College where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. Christina began her career in banking in 2014 as a Teller at TD Bank. She joined Maspeth Federal Savings in 2019. 

In her first year at Maspeth Federal Savings, Christina was named Rookie of the Year for showing consistent outstanding performance in her role and her commitment to the community. 

Christina is an active participant in several committees within the Association, including as the Internship Program  where she has built strong relationships with educational organizations like The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University.
