Summer Outdoor Programs 2018

06.27.18

The Queens Museum announces the lineup for summertime favorite Passport Thursdays and the launch of Sundays on the Lawn. These summer outdoor programs showcases an exciting season of international films and live musical performances, celebrating Queens’ cultural and artistic diversity.

Passport Thursdays

Taking place on Thursday evenings from 7 – 10pm on the lawn in front of the Museum, our annual outdoor international film series selects a series of films that explores a particular theme that resonates across cultures and ages. Arrive early to attend Masala Bhangra’s Bollywood dance workout classes from 7 – 7:45, then get cozy on our picnic blankets for the feature film starting at 8pm. This year’s films will take us to India, Ecuador, Ghana, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, which explore the classic roadtrip genre.

Sundays on the Lawn

Bring your friends and families on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 – 4pm for a new outdoor program on our lawn, featuring internationally renowned bands and musicians, plus free art making classes and lawn games. This summer, grab a picnic from our cafe and enjoy a stellar line-up of bands organized around the theme of call and response by guest curator Ariana Hellerman. Art making classes and lawn games start at 1:30pm, music performances start at 3pm.

*In case of rain, all programs will take place inside the museum!
