Represent Your Country at The People’s United Nations (pUN)

The official seal of The People’s United Nations (pUN). Official motto: “Hands-on with a vision.”

Check the list below to see if your country still needs a delegate.

The Queens Museum and Mexican artist Pedro Reyes are reconvening the United Nations—using regular people rather than diplomats, and theater games, group therapy techniques, and humor rather than diplomacy. With 106 delegates confirmed already, this is a great opportunity to meet an extraordinary range of people, laugh a lot, and learn about global issues and alternative conflict-resolution and social change techniques.

pUN is fun. We hope you can participate.

WHEN: Sat November 23 and Sun November 24, 10 – 5 pm
WHERE: The Queens Museum, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens NY
WHO: People from cultural fields and many other disciplines who want to apply their imaginations to global issues. You do NOT have to prepare anything or be an expert on the affairs of your country. We simply ask that you bring your sense of humor!
WHY: If diplomacy and diplomats have failed to solve the world’s problems, maybe we should try other techniques, and other people!
HOW: We have located our existing delegates through the artist’s and museum’s personal networks; arts professional networks; and with the help of the (real) United Nations.
WILL I BE PAID? No. But all delegates will receive a print made by the artist especially for this occasion. A buffet lunch will be served both days as well as refreshments during the sessions.
